It also soothes sensitive body areas affected by rash or redness. Pracaxi Oil is for sure our star ingredient, but Ucuuba butter deserves its own spotlight as well! Ucuuba (scientifically known as Virola surinamensis) butter is a natural -not processed- brown to yellow butter from Central and South America, and you can get it by cold pressing the seeds of the Ucuuba tree. Its consistency is soft but dry at the same time. Fun fact: the Ucuuba Tree can reach a height of 82 to 115 feet and a mature tree can produce between 66 to 110 pounds of seeds per year. Now, back to our main topic, Ucuuba butter is rich in Lauric, Myristic and Palmitic acid -essentials for healthy cell development, regulation of the immune system and maintenance of healthy skin and hair-. It’s also rich in vitamin A and C, and in unsaturated fatty acids. Some studies have shown that it has anti-inflammatory and antiseptic properties that help to treat acne, eczema and dry or irritated skin. But wait! There is more! Ucuuba butter has anti-aging properties and it helps to replenish tone and moisture to dry and mature skin. The fatty acids in it are helpful preventing hair damage from free-radicals, they add shine and elasticity in the hair (leading to less breakage), and help keep hair hydrated longer. This is simply an amazing ingredient! Thanks to its dark brown color, a lot of people use Ucuuba butter to create dark-colored soaps and to add consistency to pomades, creams, lotions, body butters and other skin care formulations. These are just a few of the benefits you can enjoy by including Ucuuba butter in your skin treatments: Treat and improve skin conditions Its antiseptic and anti-inflammatory properties make Ucuuba butter an ideal product to treat acne, eczema and dry irritated skin. Ucuuba butter will nourish and keep your skin healthy. Keep a youthful appearance Thanks to its high concentration of fatty acids and fats, Ucuuba butter is able to be absorbed quickly through the skin and to help the skin maintain its moisture, giving you a natural and fresh look.
